Low Water, High Impact Flora Establishment – Fundamentals

Water retention

Soil water is particularly important in nutrient management. In addition to sustaining all life on Earth, soil water provides a pool of dissolved nutrients that are readily available for plant uptake. Therefore, it is important to maintain proper levels of soil moisture.

Soil water holding capacity is a term that all farms should know to optimize crop production. Simply defined soil water holding capacity is the amount of water that a given soil can hold for crop use.

Sandy soils have the lowest water retention.

Biodegradable Grow Cocoons

Reusable Plant Cocoons

Various  Capillary Drill Options

The Biodegradable Grow Cocoons are completely environmentally friendly and left indefinitely in the soil. This growbox has several unique features, not only could you plant a tree requiring little or no irrigation you can also plant 4 additional plants, such as vegetables or fruits.

Planting shrubs or creepers gives you short term gains. This product provides an additional source for foliage. This intelligent biodegradable bucket system, made of recycled paper, provides plants with water. Creates healthy microclimates and assists root development.

Reusable Plant Cocoons used to establish plants. Once a plant is established (9 – 12 months) the box is removed and utilized again. The box is reusable up to 10 times, effectively giving you up to 10 years use from a single box. This plant cocoon is made from polypropylene.

Grow Cocoon bucket systems demonstrates 90% survival rates, and uses 99% less water compared to drip irrigation. Plant anywhere with very little knowledge needed. Proven technology with proven results.

Soils are generally made up of varying mixtures of three sizes of soil particles; sand, silt and clay, known as soil texture. Generally, water retention is inversely related to permeability.

Soil Conditioning Technology to improve Water Retention in Soil.

TerraCottem Soil conditioners are a proprietary mixture of more than twenty components each from different groups all assisting in the plant growth processes in a synergetic way.

The growth precursors play a very important role in the initial growth phase of the plant. They activate root cell elongation and differentiation, and promote leaf development and biomass production. In addition, roots are encouraged to grow more rapidly to depths where more water is present.

The cross-linked hydro absorbent polymers absorb and store water that is usually lost to evaporation and leaching, reducing the volume and frequency of necessary irrigation by up to 50%. This water is then kept at the disposal of the plant that accesses the stored water on demand through its root hairs, keeping the water in the root zone for a longer period of time.

The specially selected fertilizers provide balanced nutrition to the plants based upon macro and microelements.

Terra-Synergy Premium Natural Soil Conditioner is another water retention product. Terra meaning soil or earth, synergy meaning ‘working together’. The outcome of the whole becomes larger than sum of its individual parts.

A South African produced product, designed around the needs of horticultural and agricultural customers.  Cost effective and an easy to incorporate as a soil conditioning additive. Aids and improves the soils water retention capacity and assist in general plant growth.

TERRA Synergy® contains a mixture of naturally biodegradable super absorbent polymers that retain up to 300% of its own weight in water.

TERRA Synergy® is further enhanced by the addition of dried Ecklonia Maxima that add large amounts of organic insoluble carbohydrates to assist in improving soil structure and aeration and that also have excellent moisture retention properties.

Lastly TERRA Synergy® contains Agricultural grade activated carbon, the second organic addition to TERRA Synergy® this grade is specifically produced from local alien vegetation to standards required for implementation in the South African Agricultural industry.

Bio-nutrient support

One corner stone of agriculture is soil. For thriving planting schemes you require soil fundamentals, such as bacterial life, fungi & minerals. To accommodate this intrinsic relationship we utilize 2 products which provide nutrients to support life in the soil: Mineral Complex and Bacteria.

Below is a demonstration of farming in the desert using biochar, mineral complex, structured water and bacteria.

Water Treatment

Bioremediation is a process used to treat contaminated media, including water, soil and subsurface material, by altering environmental conditions to stimulate growth of microorganisms and degrade the target pollutants. In many cases, bioremediation is less expensive and more sustainable than other alternatives.

Scientific advances have enabled us to isolate and mass-produce standardized pro-biotic bacteria and fungi into industrial concentrated inoculum’s. High count CFU count (colony forming units) microbial products have been conducted and demonstrate the efficacy of microbes for the safe remediation of numerous contaminants.

These standardized high CFU count probiotic formulations allows the bioaugmentation process to remediate pollutants and a rate which far exceeds that of natural indigenous microbes (intrinsic bioremediation) and exceeds present oxygenation technology. These Complex chemical reactions which occur provides the extra energy required to stimulate and activate biological processes in the water and subsequently in the soil.

Good ways of energising water sources are by means of microbes, as mentioned above, but if water is pumped for irrigation water structuring could be enhanced with inline treatment methods.

In the case of existing water sources, structure becomes a key focus. Structured Water results in better absorption rates and improves plant performance. Irrigation water is structured either with a vortex, magnetism or frequency. Our products structures water by means of magnetic, vortex & frequency.

Our frequency strips could be utilised to treat still standing or slow flowing water sources. Our crystal piezoelectric frequency strip, The AquaStruct, provides a constant source of electrons which assist with long term oxidising. Noticeable water quality improvements after 30 days. Strap the AquaStruct strip onto a metal pipe, tie with cable tie, and anchor into a dam or slow flowing river.

Operations

Integrated container systems will showcase atmospheric water generators, plasma generators, hydroponics, drip irrigation, internet etc. These systems will become the backbone of your greening projects.

Utilising various aspects of these technologies, individuals and organisations could effectively farm anywhere.

The application and versatility of these technologies assists households, small and large scale farming operations, desert greening operations, plantations, architects and real estate developers.
