Papa Pump Gravity and Water Powered Ram Pump
The Papa Pump provides a cost-effective and innovative method, in the form of a gravity water powered ram pump, for a range of water delivery applications including off grid water supply, irrigation, livestock watering, mining and humanitarian projects.
This globally patented product delivers water 24/7 without the requirement for electricity or fuel by utilising the power of natural flowing water from a spring, stream or river.
The multi-award winning and internationally patented Papa Pump®, is the world’s first and only injection moulded, composite water powered pump.
Designed with longevity in mind, the Papa Pump uses a patented elastomeric valve which has enabled the pump design to be far more compact, lighter and efficient in comparison to ‘conventional’ cast iron ram pumps.
Manufactured from a modern 50% glass 50% nylon composite, it is extremely strong, rust-resistant and doesn’t contain moving mechanical parts that cease to function over time. The use of the modern composite material increases the durability of parts and reduces costs – for example, replacing the valves is a fraction of the cost of traditional valves.
Features:
- Utilises free water from your flowing water source using no fuel or electricity
- Simple and cost-effective water pumping solution for farms, golf courses, humanitarian projects, etc
- Manufactured from a modern 50% glass 50% nylon composite
- Non-corrosive, lightweight and durable construction
- Pressure tested to 50 bar – nearly 4 times their maximum working pressure and still remained unbreakable
- Improved overall efficiency compared to a traditional hydraulic ram pumps
- Designed to operate 24/7 without fuel or attendance
- Design is based on traditional hydro ram principles using the ‘water hammer’ effect to pressurise a portion of the flow
- Patented elastomeric valve
- Easily installed and maintained without special tools or equipment
- Extremely low maintenance – no moving mechanical parts (inexpensive valves changed 3-5 years)
Based on the traditional hydro ram principles of using the ‘water hammer’ effect to pressurise a portion of the flow, it requires a supply flow and head of water to operate, to pump water over long distances and to higher elevations. The water powered ram pump.
Water Delivery Principles
For your proposed Papa Pump site to be viable you must have:
A spring, stream or river with a flow of at least 50 litres per minutes and the watercourse must fall to give you a supply head of at least 1 metre. The supply head is the difference between the highest point of your watercourse and the lowest point across your land – the greater the supply head, the greater the amount of water you can deliver and the higher you can potentially lift the water.
Inside Your Box
The 2″ Composite Papa Pump Kit contains:
- 2″ Papa Pump
- Revolutionary ‘Seradisc’ anti-vortex filters.
- High quality stainless steel shut off valve.
- Pressure Vessel.
- Delivery hose.
- C-spanner tool.
- Spare valve and ‘o’ ring set.
- Installation, Operation and Maintenance Manual.
Enhance your water network with added benefits. Structuring all your water with the AquaStruct water conditioner, treats hard water, oxidize and energise your water before utilisation. Increasing plant growth and reducing buildup.
Build-your-own, or cheap ram pumps are plentiful online and are OK if you only want a little water and are happy to spend a lot of time adjusting, mending and repairing the system. If however you need a reliable water supply without the hassle, an investment in a Papa Pump is a smart business solution for your water delivery system.
Multiple Pumps
Multiple Papa Pumps can work in parallel using the same infrastructure, so you can maintain one pump while the others provide continuous water delivery.
If your supply flow is large and you need more water delivered, you can use a multi pump system. A number of pumps can be installed in parallel with delivery via a manifold. This allows for continuous operation during servicing, flexibility during low flows, and the use of a single delivery pipe. The major part of the cost is infrastructure, so buying extra pumps doesn’t mean multiplying the unit cost.
For applications requiring higher delivery heads than attainable from single stage pumping (over 150m) – multiple pumps can be utilised in a ‘Daisy Chain’ configuration.
