First of all I’m happy you decided to view my page. My name is Maarten Potgieter. I was born in South Africa. I attended 3 South African universities and followed many different career path’s. The knowledge I’ll share here with you today, is the direct result of 3 significant events which transpired in my life. I started venturing into entrepreneurship which lead me into my third life event – I started researching natural nanoparticles. Obviously I’m not referencing those scary nanobots. Together with an engineer we started replacing systems and processes which produce natural nanotechnology. These energised particles demonstrated different physical properties but also produce unique energy effects. This intern enticed me to conduct research into energy and healing.

The second most important factor for optimum health is to have good systems functions. The body has various processes which regulates its own wellbeing. In the field of molecular biology, nuclear receptors are a class of proteins found within cells that are responsible for sensing steroid and thyroid hormones and certain other molecules. Nuclear receptors regulate numerous physiological processes such as metabolism, reproduction, inflammation, as well as the circadian rhythm. Nuclear receptors sense changes in lipid metabolite levels to drive differential gene expression. Nuclear receptors have the ability to directly bind to DNA and regulate the expression of adjacent genes. Saying that our bodies are an work of art is an understatement. What we feed it is important.

Firstly they are considered to be food additives, they are completely natural, safe with no known side effects. The name was coined in 1989 by Stephen DeFelice, founder and chairman of the Foundation for Innovation in Medicine, which is an American organization located in Cranford, New Jersey.

Dr. P. R. Raghavan has created the nutraceutical Metadichol. Metadichol is the first particle I would like to introduce you to.

Metadichol, better known as NanoSoma, is a product containing Metadichol. NanoSoma assists the body in homeostasis. It is suggested to tie to all 49 nuclear receptors, and it works along many pathways including genetic expression.

What is Metadichol and why is it so effective in treating disease and healing wounds?

Metadichol® is a patented nano emulsion consisting of long chain alcohols found in many foods. It is commonly called policosanol and is present in foods such as rice, sugar cane, wheat, and peanuts. Cholesterol is carried through your blood, attached to proteins. This combination of proteins and cholesterol is called a lipoprotein. The primary function of lipoproteins is the transportation and delivery of fatty acids, triacylglycerol, and cholesterol to and from target cells in many organs. NANO SOMA supports the regulation of the fatty alcohol cycle in the body. The lipid metabolism in this cycle is vital for cellular function. frankincense

Also known as olibanum, frankincense comes from trees in the Boswellia family. Boswellia trees are native to Oman and Yemen on the Arabian Peninsula and in Somalia in northeastern Africa.

Frankincense oil is prepared by the steam distillation of gum resin from the Boswellia tree.

Much is still being learned about the health benefits of frankincense, but doctors like the signs they see early in their research and believe it could have some good uses. Those uses could grow over time.

Frankincense, along with myrrh, has been prescribed in traditional Chinese medicine and administered for treatment of blood stagnation and inflammation diseases in addition to pain relief and swelling.

A study done by nine doctors in China revealed frankincense and myrrh may help in the treatment of cancer. Specifically, boswellic acid might prevent cancer cells from spreading

In another study discussed in a Cancer journal article in 2011, patients with brain tumors took 4.2 grams of frankincense or a placebo each day. Sixty percent of the group taking frankincense had reduced fluid in their brain, compared to 26% of the people given the placebo.

Research by eight doctors revealed that the compounds found in frankincense prevent the production of leukotrienes, which cause bronchial (throat) muscles to constrict in people who have asthma. Seventy percent of participants in one study of people with asthma said they experienced improvements with their symptoms, including wheezing and shortness of breath, after receiving 300 milligrams of frankincense daily for a month and a half.

The prevention of those leukotrienes that helps ease symptoms of asthma also plays a role in helping people with arthritis. Arthritis is a disease that causes inflammation and pain in joints such as the fingers, knees, and feet. Leukotriene compounds cause this inflammation.

Participants in one study were given 1 gram of frankincense extract per day for eight weeks. Those participants said they felt less joint swelling and pain than those who were given a placebo. In addition to that, they reported a better range of motion, and they walked farther than patients who received the placebo.

The boswellic acids that come from frankincense have good antibacterial properties, which help prevent and treat oral (mouth-related) infections. In one study, high school students with were given gum that contained 100 milligrams of frankincense extract or 200 milligrams of frankincense powder. They chewed the gum for two weeks, and both gums were reported to be more effective at reducing signs of gingivitis than a placebo.

The previously mentioned anti-inflammatory properties of frankincense also help to reduce symptoms of diseases based in the stomach, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

One study involving people who had chronic diarrhea gave those people either 1,200 milligrams of Boswellia or a placebo each day. Six weeks into the study, the people who had used Boswellia had cured their problem at a better rate than those who had used the placebo.

MYrRh

Myrrh oil is one of the oldest essential oils in recorded history. It’s mentioned in Biblical texts, it’s an important part of Ayurvedic medicine in India, and it’s been found in ancient Egyptian tombs that are more than 2,000 years old. It’s known for its rich, smokey, and sweet scent, and science is beginning to study it for potential health benefits.

Science has begun to find that myrrh oil may actually provide benefits for some conditions. However, studies have also found that myrrh oil on its own should not be consumed. In fact, like most essential oils, myrrh oil can be toxic if consumed.

Myrrh oil appears to contain compounds that can help reduce the chemicals that cause inflammation in the body. These chemicals can trigger chronic swelling and pain. As a result, certain myrrh oil extracts are being studied as potential treatments for inflammatory conditions such as arthritis.

Studies also suggest that certain myrrh oil extracts can significantly reduce pain from headaches, sore muscles, and sore backs. The compound furanodiene, which is found in myrrh oil, appears to help reduce pain significantly in many pathologies.

One study showed that using a mouthwash that contained myrrh as an active ingredient helped reduce oral sores and pain in more than 80% of patients. However, it’s important to note that this was due to direct contact between the myrrh and the sores, not because of swallowing the mouthwash.

oregano

Oregano is an herb that’s commonly used in cooking. Oil extracted from its leaves has a long history of medicinal uses.

Over the centuries, it has been used to treat a variety of ailments, including snake and spider bites, respiratory troubles, and menstruation problems. Today, it is marketed for the treatment of a long list of health conditions.

A rich source of antioxidants, oil of oregano can help to repair the body’s cells and reduce the rate of aging and the risk of some diseases. Oregano contains pyridoxine, also known as vitamin B6, which is necessary for healthy blood vessels and skin. 

Oregano oil has been found to support healthy cholesterol levels. A study of 48 people who took a small amount of oregano oil after each meal showed a significant reduction in their LDL cholesterol (“bad cholesterol), which is one of the main causes of the clogged arteries that can lead to heart disease.

Oil of oregano is commonly used to treat digestive problems like abdominal cramps, bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, among others. While more research continues, experts have found that oregano is high in carvacrol. This is known to be effective against types of bacteria that cause digestive discomfort.

Oil of oregano is very high in thymol, an organic compound also found in thyme and other herbs. Researchers have linked thymol with treatments for various kinds of fungal conditions affecting the skin, including toenail fungus, yeast infections, athlete’s foot, and others. 

Coconut

Coconut oil has properties that can help treat many different health conditions, from hair and skin damage to poor cognitive function and metabolism.

Lauric acid is a type of saturated fat found in coconut oil, and in fact, this oil contains the highest levels of lauric acid in a natural source. Studies have shown that lauric acid travels to the liver and is converted into energy instead of being stored in your body as fat, which could potentially help in weight loss.

Not all cholesterol is bad. Coconut oil has been found to increase levels of HDL cholesterol, also known as “good cholesterol,” in some women, while lowering the bad type, LDL cholesterol.

More research is needed to fully link consuming coconut oil to better cognitive function. However, the chemicals found in the oil, particularly ketones, have been associated with reducing Alzheimer’s disease symptoms by providing other energy sources for damaged brain cells.

Lavender

Lavender is an herb native to the Mediterranean region. It is commonly used to flavor foods and beverages and as a fragrance in soap and other cosmetic products. Lavender is also one of the most widely grown essential oil crops in the world. This product, which is also referred to as lavender aromatherapy oil, is typically made by distilling the herb’s dried flowers with steam. 

Essential oils are too strong to use in their pure form. They are usually diluted with other oils, creams, or gels to reach a solution that contains a small percentage of the essential oil.

CEDAR

Cedarwood essential oil is steam-distilled from the wood chips or sawdust of the cedar tree. Animal studies have found that cedarwood can bring down pain, swelling, and inflammation.

Animal studies also showed that cedrol found lowered anxiety by boosting brain chemicals. One study even showed that people who inhaled cedrol had lower blood pressure and breathing rates, suggesting a relaxing effect.  Test tube research shows that Atlas cedar essential oil has antibiotic activity against some bacteria, including Escherichia coli.‌

Geranium essential oil is derived by steam distillation of the leaves of Pelargonium graveolens, a plant species native to South Africa. According to folklore, it was used for a wide range of health conditions.

Geranium oil is grown in many regions, including Europe and Asia. There are many varieties and strains of the pink flower with a fresh, floral fragrance. Each variety differs in scent, but is near-identical in terms of composition, benefits, and uses.

Geranium essential oil has long been used in Tunisia as a folk remedy treatment to reduce hyperglycemia. An animal study found that daily, oral administration significantly reduced glucose levels in rats. Researchers suggested that geranium essential oil may be beneficial for alleviating high blood sugar in people with diabetes, but also indicated that further study is needed.

Certain neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) are associated with varying degrees of neuroinflammation. A study found that high concentrations of citronellol, a component of geranium essential oil, inhibited nitric oxide production, reducing inflammation and cell death in the brain. According to researchers, geranium essential oil might have benefits for people with neurodegenerative diseases that include neuroinflammation.

Geranium essential oil has been used to treat health conditions for centuries. There is scientific data indicating that it may be beneficial for a number of conditions, such as anxiety, depression, infection, and pain management. It’s thought to have antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties.

purple corn

One of the most widely-consumed foodstuffs in Peruvian cuisine, Purple Corn has been cultivated in Peru for thousands of years. It has been used since pre-Inca times and is found in different ceramic objects of culture dating back over 2,500 years. 

Interestingly, if you take Purple Corn and plant it outside of Peru it loses its purple color. Some scientists say the harsh environment of the Peruvian Andes, which rises 10,000 to 15,000 above sea level, forced this corn to fight for survival and increase its immunity capacity through evolution. This in turn led to the production of massive amounts of anthocyanins – the phytonutrients responsible for its deep purple colour.

A 2004 study published in “The Journal of Nutrition” found that one particular anthocyanin found in Purple Corn – CG3 – has the potential to fight obesity and diabetes. CG3 is reported to be one of the most powerful antioxidants in existence, coming out top when tested against 13 other anthocyanins in the ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) assay, which tests for antioxidant activity.

Another antioxidant making waves in nutritional circles is a hydroxybenzoic acid in purple corn – protocatechuic acid – which has been recently linked to the strong antioxidant activity in this corn variety.

In a study conducted at The Tokai Gakuen University in Japan, it was confirmed that there was an anti-inflammatory response to CG3. Further statements based on results of these studies indicate that, “it is possible that this plant pigment may also suppress the inflammatory response in diseases marked with inflammation”. The 2007 issue of the “Journal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology” reported that the anthocyanins in Purple Corn lowered blood pressure and heart rate in hypertensive rats.

Scientists from Hallym University in Korea found that antioxidant properties in purple corn extract were able to prevent the hardening of the blood vessels in the kidneys – a process called “glomerulosclerosis” – which is often associated with diabetes. This can cause kidney failure if left unchecked.

amygdalin (B17)

Amygdalin is a compound found in the pits or seeds of apricots, apples, peaches, plums, red cherries, and other fruits. It’s also in bitter almonds.

A partly man-made, purified form of amygdalin, known as Laetrile, was patented in the 1950s and became a popular alternative cancer treatment during the 1960s and ’70s.

Many websites tout the benefits of amygdalin (also called nitriloside, purasin, and vitamin B17) for cancer. Though these sites post stories of personal successes after using it, the scientific proof is still laking.

The way your intestines break amygdalin down makes cyanide, which supposedly kills harmful cancer cells. Some people have also suggested that it teams up with enzymes in cancer cells to destroy them. Others say the cancer was caused because you didn’t have enough “vitamin B17”. Some suggest the chemical has a slight effect on certain kinds of cancer cells, but more research is required to make definitive conclusions.

Ganoderma Lucidum

Ganoderma lucidum is an edible medicinal mushroom known as “Lingzhi” in China and “Reishi or Manetake” in Japan.

One of the most important effects of the reishi mushroom is that it can boost your immune system. While some details are still uncertain, test-tube studies have shown that reishi can affect the genes in white blood cells, which are critical parts of your immune system. What’s more, studies have found that some forms of reishi may alter inflammation pathways in white blood cells.

Research in cancer patients has shown that some of the molecules found in the mushroom can increase the activity of a type of white blood cell called natural killer cells. Natural killer cells fight infections and cancer in the body. Another study found that reishi can increase the number of other white blood cells (lymphocytes) in those with colorectal cancer.

Although most immune system benefits of reishi mushroom have been seen in those who are ill, some evidence has shown that it can help healthy people, too. Reishi impacts white blood cells and immune function.

sesame seed

There is a reason people have been growing sesame seeds around the world since prehistoric times—they are good for you in a number of ways. 

Sesame seeds contain lignans and phytosterols, which are plant compounds that can help lower cholesterol. Phytosterols are also believed to enhance your immune response and decrease your risk of certain cancers. These and other substances in sesame seeds are also known to prevent high blood pressure.

The sesamin and sesamolin in sesame seeds are known for their antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Antioxidants are important to your health because they protect your body against various diseases by slowing down damage to cells. The antibacterial activity of sesame seeds is proven to fight against staph infections and strep throat as well as common skin fungi, such as athlete’s foot.

Research shows that the oil of sesame seeds enhances the effectiveness of traditional type 2 diabetes medications when they are taken together. 

Turmeric (Curcumin)

Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. Turmeric has been reported to have many health benefits. Its use as a medicine dates back nearly 4000 years. Over the past few decades, modern medicine has increased research into turmeric’s reputation for healing. Curcumin is at the heart of the research, as it’s the source of many of turmeric’s healthful properties.

Curcumin has been shown to help with the painful symptoms of both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. This is due in large part to its anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation can manifest as redness, swelling, warmth in the affected joints, joint pain, and joint stiffness. Several studies have shown curcumin to be effective for reducing these inflammation symptoms.

Several studies have shown curcumin to be beneficial in managing inflammatory and degenerative eye disorders. While the study sizes have been relatively small, they indicate curcumin may be good for keeping eyes healthy and treating some eye diseases.

Research has shown curcumin may be beneficial for your kidneys. Specifically, curcumin may help in healing acute kidney injuries and increasing antioxidants.

There’s not enough evidence to prove that curcumin can prevent or treat cancer. However, there are several studies currently ongoing that are aimed at better understanding curcumin’s potential in this area. Some research shows it may reduce the ability of cancer cells to multiply.

fulvic acid

Fulvic acid has been well studied for its effects on immune health and inflammation. Research indicates that it may bolster your body’s defense against illnesses.

Guarana (Paullinia cupana) is a plant native to the Amazon. It is a common ingredient of energy drinks and can be unsafe in large amounts.

Guarana contains caffeine. Caffeine works by stimulating the central nervous system, heart, and muscles. Guarana also contains theophylline and theobromine, which are chemicals similar to caffeine.

People take guarana by mouth for obesity, athletic performance, mental performance, to increase energy, and for many other reasons, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.

Guarana is loaded with compounds that have antioxidant properties. Antioxidants are important because they neutralize potentially harmful molecules called free radicals. These molecules can interact with parts of your cells and cause damage linked to aging, heart disease, cancers and other diseases.

cinnamon

Cinnamon, from the bark of the cinnamon tree, has long been used as both a spice and a traditional medicine. As a supplement, you’ll find it in capsules, teas, and extracts. So far, doctors don’t recommend it for any health issues. Although research suggests interesting possibilities, there’s more work to be done.

Several studies of adults and animals with diabetes have found that cinnamon can help lower blood sugar. An essential oil in cinnamon called cinnamaldehyde can target your fat cells and make them burn more energy, according to a lab study. 

In studies using animals or cells grown in labs, cinnamon has shown promise for its ability to slow cancer growth and even kill tumor cells. We need well-run studies of humans to know what role, if any, cinnamon could play in curing or preventing cancer.

Several studies suggest that eating cinnamon every day for 3 months can bring your systolic blood pressure (the top number) down by as much as 5 points. In a lab setting, cinnamon stopped the buildup of a brain protein that’s a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease.

It turns out that cinnamon was a top inflammation-fighter in a recent laboratory study that looked at 115 foods. Since inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis become more common as you age, more research could support using cinnamon as a natural remedy for older adults to help with these types of conditions.

Ozone was first discovered in the late 1700’s. It was scientifically identified as a compound in 1840. Ten years later the first ozone generator was build and used in the Netherlands for water purification in 1893. Throughout the 1900’s ozone gripped the minds of scientists and physicians. It was first used as a preservative for cold meat storage in 1909, followed by the German Army using ozone to treat battlefield wounds and infections in 1914. In 1915 German physician Albert Wolff went a step further treating skin diseases with ozone. In 1939 it was discovered that ozone prevents the growth of yeast and mould during storage of fruit. In 2001 the FDA approved ozone as an antimicrobial agent for direct contact with food.   

The use of ozone in water treatment has increased significantly since its first use and is now widely used, especially in Europe where pollution and subsequent eutrophication have complicated water treatment. Although only used initially for disinfection, the usefulness in other aspects of water treatment has become more apparent.

Ozone is an environmentally friendly alternative to many chemical processes. It has a high redox potential, can be generated at the point of use and is easily converted back to oxygen. Since ozone is an unstable molecule, ozone has to be generated on-site. A common technique is electrical discharge, also called silent electrical discharge. By applying high-frequency alternating voltage to oxygen gas (O2), the oxygen molecules are split into atoms. Ozone (O3) is formed by recombination of atomic and molecular oxygen. 

Ozone is a naturally created by two methods, lightning or UV light. Nature uses these two methods to break up oxygen molecules to form ozone. Corona discharge, the preferred method of creating ozone, mimics lightning by forcing air between high voltage plates. The discharge between the plates breaks down oxygen recombining as ozone.

 Challenges of ozone:

  • Ozone is an unstable molecule which quickly changes back to oxygen. Ozone decomposes to half-life in 20 – 60 minutes depending on the temperature and humidity of ambient air.
  • Ozone cannot be stored or transported and must be created on-site, at the point of treatment.

Ozone is an extremely strong oxidiser generally not harmful to mammals at low concentrations, but lethal to microorganisms such as bacteria.  Like any oxidising agent, it could be harmful and should be handled with care. Majority of humans can smell ozone long before it is dangerous.

Did you know that, to date, there has not been a single bacterium, virus or cyst discovered that can withstand ozone? Ozone kills them all.

How does this occur? Well, ozone interferes with the metabolism of bacterium-cells, most likely through inhibiting and blocking the operation of the enzymatic control system. A sufficient amount of ozone breaks through the cell membrane. And this leads to the destruction of the bacteria.

Ozone generation typically uses ambient or dry air. Depending on the circumstances and your specific need, you could purchase the standard ozone generator with a fan which circulates ambient air through the corona plates to create ozone. If you prefer dry air as a feed for ozone production, then a positive displacement unit is attached to the outside of the treatment area, bringing in moisture free air into the unit. Agricultural Effects of ORMUS

Professor Hou Tian Zhen, the director of the Department of Tree Physiology and Biochemistry at the Xinjiang Academy of Forestry Sciences in the People’s Republic of China, led a team of researchers evaluating the use of it in three separate experiments.

In 1989, the first experiment was conducted in the greenhouse at the An-ning Experiment Station, tomatoes treated with it averaged nearly double the number of flowers per plant and 27% more fruit. Thereafter, field experiments at the An-ning Experiment Station demonstrated that the treated green beans increased yields by 81%, sweet beets yields increased 67%, and soybeans increased 29%.In 1991 a large-scale field experiment was conducted using watermelon plots 300 meters apart in a field at the An-ning Experiment Station. Treated melons yielded 65% more than the control group.

Professor Zhen noted the hypotheses that might explain the mechanism of yield increase. While some scholars suggest it might effect the wider opening of the stomata (pores in the under side of the leaf through which gases flow in and out of the plant), another explanation was given by Dr. San Lunjing, professor at Zao-Dao-Tian University in Japan. He suggested the bioelectrical potential is shafted when the plant receives the stimulation. The shaft, in turn, generates ionic flow and such ionic flow stimulates cells resulting in optimized growth.

Other than the visual characteristics of m-state or Gans nanomaterial, it also exhibits physical properties. Elements in this alternative matter state emit energy fields similar to magnetic or electromagnetic fields. Harold Aungst, a Pennsylvania alfalfa grower using Ormus won every contest in his county for growth and nutrition, with 29% protein, the most tons per acre and five cuttings instead of three. He got 7.6 tons/Acre the first year using this technology, nearly double the state average of 3.4 tons/Acre. The second year that increased to 10 tons/Acre, triple the state average. Use of this new technology treated hay resulted in a 30% increase in milk production.

In 1992, JoAnn Mahaffey of Stone Ground Farm in Ontario, Canada showed a 50% yield increase over controls even though the latter were close by and received the advantage of sound.

“I have just come back from the farm having harvested the first batch of Lucerne after the Ormus application. For the harvest before the Ormus application, we collected just under two trailer loads of cut Lucerne from the field (this being my standard means of measurement as I don’t have a bailer yet), then about five weeks after the Ormus application we harvested again and we collected four and a half trailer loads for that very same field. Our own research on 300 mature walnut trees shows remarkable results. We treated half with Agricultural Ormus for 2 years and these showed 25% greater branch tip growth that the untreated trees, as well as 16% advantage in trunk thickness gain over the treatment period.

Using Horticultural Ormus

Apply Horticultural Ormus to crops with a sprayer.

Soil Drenching: Dilute the product at the rate recommended on the label. Apply 2 to 3 sprays either in autumn or spring before planting begins.

Foliage: Dilute Ormus at recommended dilution in your spray bottle. Apply as a foliage spray early in the mornings….. This helps the plant fight pests and diseases from preying on the plant as a food source. Ormus interacts positively with dew. Spray either early in the morning while the foliage is still wet with dew, or in the early evening. Upper and lower leaf coverage is recommended when plants are entering their reproductive growth or when plant disease is present.

It is suggested that the sprayer’s focus and emotional state affect the performance of Ormus through a process known as quantum entanglement. In short, the sprayer is an agent acting within the loop producing plant life. Just as the sprayer’s physical actions affect the plant, her emotions and intent affect the plant, too. A caring, nurturing emotional state combined with a positive outcome will achieve the best results.

Field Trial Results

Rustenberg Wine Estate, Western Cape, Summer 2018 / 2019

This report details the results of field trials conducted on the historic Rustenberg Wine Estate in Ida’s Valley, Stellenbosch over the summer of 2018 /19. The results show that EnOrmus Bud not only increases plant volume but also plant health when compare to untreated subblocks.

To assess whether or not EnOrmus Bud improves plant growth and health, an experimental design was set up on the Merlot block. The 22 277 vines were divided into five subblocks for different treatments.

Block B in this report received agriOrmus treatment at an application rate of 10 litres of EnOrmus Bud per hectare. Block B & Block E enjoyed the largest gains per hectare.

On Block E, EnOrmus Bud was applied according to specification as a soil drench at the start of the season, on 21 September 2018, at an application rate of 10 litres of EnOrmus Bud per hectare. This was followed by a leaf spray before the budding stage, early in December 2018, at an application rate of 2 litres of EnOrmus Bud per hectare.

Significant differences were observed in plant measurements such as  volume, height and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI). When considering plants treated with EnOrmous Bud and those that are not and its relationship to the plant measurements, there is a significant difference in favour of the EnOrmus Bud.

Adding naturally-occurring ocean minerals (Ormus) back into the soil (sodium removed), results in food with higher mineral content. Ormus typically results in a 10-15 percent jump compared to foods grown in untreated soils. It’s ionic minerals; there are no plant hormones, additives, or anything. The plant will use what it needs, because it’s ionic. It only takes little microliter size of Ormus to produce millions of ions. You notice the growth effect.

Elandshoek, Aliwal North, Eastern Cape, Autumn 2016.   

From autumn 2016 an experiment was conducted of the farm Elandshoek near Aliwal North, to compare EnOrmus Bud treated and untreated subblocks on mature walnut orchards. The aim was to improve the growth rate and yield of the +- 5 000 walnuts trees that were established on Elandshoek over the previous +- ten years.

Measurements were taken of trunk thickness and shoot tip growth over the following two growth seasons, and harvest data is currently being taken after the third growth season after applying EnOrmus Bud over three seasons, autumn and spring, at an application rate of 10 litres per hectare through soil drenches.

Trees in treated subblocbks gained consistently more in trunk circumference compared to untreated subblocks.

UFF Farms – Hochland, Bonathaba & Zwartfontein , Western Cape, Spring 2019.

The objective of these trials was to assess the performance of enOrmus Bud across a variety of crops, including both young and mature orchards. A key consideration for future usage is the ability of enOrmus Bud to improve growth, yields, food quality (appearance and nutrition) and the ability to reduce NKP inputs over time. It was agreed that these three farms would be ideal given their locations and the assortment of fruit grown.

Methodology

On each farm, a few crops were selected for trials. Applications were made in spring 2019 during September. Minimum dosages were applied as a soil drench at the rate of 2ml per plant. It is common to follow-up with a foliar spray later in the season, and this was not done.

Mixing the enOrmus Bud in a water tank. Two rows were selected for each crop for treated trials and two nearby rows for selected as the control (untreated). The farm managers were involved in selecting the locations for trials.

Application was done by hand to restrict the treatment to the experimental rows. In practice, enOrmus Bud can be applied through the irrigation system.

The field trials were designed and set-up by Charl Pienaar, who has an MSc in plant breeding. A total of 2969 trees were treated, split equally between experimental and control specimens.

Discussion and conclusions

In 12 of the 13 trials, enOrmus Bud treated trees grew better than trees that were not treated. The exception is Royal Beaut apples trunk circumference, which showed only 0.5 cm less gain than the treated trees. However, Royal Beaut apples grew 4.2cm taller on average.

As expected, trees gained more on height than trunk circumference. Best performers on height were Rosemary pears (170.7%) and Pamorama apples (122.6%), which showed more than twice the gain in height than those that were not treated.

Citrus performed really well, with an average varietal height advantage gain of 45% as well as 18% better growth in trunk circumference – with some varietals doing better than others.

Relevant results from other farms

Tokara has shown an incremental increase of 1 ton per hectare on their grapes treated with enOrmus Bud.

Building on the prior year’s exceptional results at Rustenberg Wine Estate, our Ormus based products were the top performers again. This indicates that the effects are cumulative and build more advantage over time. Recall that using NVDI analysis, the Ormus treated vines showed a 9% advantage in plant health over other treatments.

We are conducting large winter field trials on wheat, canola, pastures and vegetables. These results will be available on request.

The Wonder of Water

Why would you want to structure and energise your water?

In survival school we were taught that if your drink water from a river you drink it where the river flows the quickest. Rightly so. When water stagnates it becomes denser as internal association forces attract, promoting compounds such as calcium carbonate to form.  Since water is the universal solvent, when it is exposed to chemical compounds containing ionic bonds, it dissolves them. Tap water contains high concentrations of various dissolved ions.Common elements like sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and iron all are routinely found in tap water at relatively high concentrations.  All of these elements form positive ions in solution because they have “excess electrons” that they donate during ionic bonding.  Atoms “with excess electrons” will donate electrons to another atom, becoming positively charged in the process. Once this process occurs, the two atoms are attracted to each other by their positive and negative charges.

When water flows freely in rivers or from fountains, the path is full of nature’s angles. Electricity and magnetism are essentially two aspects of the same thing, because a changing electric field creates a magnetic field and a changing magnetic field creates an electric field. According to the United Nations World Food Program, more than 870 million of the world’s people are malnourished. Most of the hungry are children. In the developing world, malnutrition contributes to the death of 2.6 million children each year and one of six children is underweight. At the same time that more food is desperately needed, arable land and important resources like fertilizer and water are limited. Salinization and climate change also limit the suitability of much land for agricultural production. Feeding a global population that is projected to reach 9 billion by 2050 will require that agricultural yields increase by 70-100%.

Yields of any given crop vary widely from place to place, even in the same region. Those who study global agricultural trends speak of the ‘yield gap’, which is the difference between the best observed yield and results elsewhere. Theoretically, if we could close the yield gap  — if all farmers could achieve the highest attainable yield — worldwide crop production would rise by 45-70%. Yield gaps can often be explained by inadequate fertilizer or water, or by losses to pests or disease. Vast increases in the use of fertilizers, water, and pesticides are not only economically impractical, but would have many negative environmental consequences. Scaling up current high-input agricultural systems is simply not feasible.

But what if the yield gap could be closed in another way, if yield could be increased with dramatically fewer chemical inputs? Producing more food with fewer resources may seem too good to be true, but the world’s farmers have trillions of potential partners that can help achieve that ambitious goal. Those partners are microbes.

Microbes and plants are intimate partners in virtually every life process.

Microbes already help feed the world. In fact, without microbes there would be no plants or animals, as all life on Earth is dependent on microbes to provide many essential services. Increasingly, biologists are recognizing that all multicellular organisms from sponges to termites to humans are dependent on intimate, evolutionarily-ancient relationships with many different kinds of microbes. For plants, vulnerable as they are to changes in their immediate environment, the services provided by microbes are critical. In their natural, unmanaged environments, all plants are supported by a vast, invisible world of bacteria, viruses, and fungi that live in and around their roots, stems, leaves, seeds, pollen, fruits, and flowers.

Additional complex communities of microbes live in and on the insects, birds, invertebrates, and other animals that interact with plants and with each other. These interlocking, interdependent communities have deep evolutionary roots, reaching all the way back to the origin of multicellular organisms and the emergence of land plants and animals. Their diversity and capabilities are nothing short of astounding.

Microbes support plant health by increasing the availability of nutrients, enhancing plant root growth, neutralizing toxic compounds in the soil, making plants more resistant to disease, heat, flooding, and drought, and deterring pathogens and predators. Microbes and plants are intimate partners in virtually every life process. Microbial communities that help the plants overcome these environmental challenges.

Some of the ways microbes contribute to plant health have been known for a long time, and new ones regularly continue to be discovered. Recently, a realization has begun to take hold that these relationships are more vast and important than previously recognized. In the past 20 years or so, our ability to study these complicated communities and unravel the detailed mechanisms by which the members interact has improved enormously.

Optimizing the microbial communities of plants offers an entirely new approach to enhancing productivity.

Increasing our knowledge of plant-microbe interactions has deep implications for agriculture. When humans domesticated plants and animals thousands of years ago, they did so without any knowledge of the local microbial communities that were essential to the health and productivity of those plants and animals. Multiple strains of wheat, corn, rice, and other crops have been planted around the world in environments where the local microbial communities differ from those where the plants originated, and where conditions are such that the plant might need new microbial partners to grow best. Optimizing the microbial communities of plants offers an entirely new approach to enhancing productivity. Indeed, such an approach is the opposite of past management strategies that targeted microbes in the mistaken belief that they all cause disease.

Some beneficial microbes have been known for a long time; the microbes known as Rhizobia that inhabit the roots of leguminous plants and provide them with usable nitrogen, were described by Martinus Beijerinck in 1888. Other observations, for example, that certain plant diseases seemed to be rarer in some fields than others, led to research that showed that the “disease suppression” was due to living organisms. Even before the responsible organisms were identified, farmers could move soil from one field to another to take advantage of its protective abilities.

 Virtually every aspect of plant biology is affected by interactions with microbes.

In the last fifty years, a great deal has been learned about a few of the microbes that live in, on, and near plants. In the last ten years, scientists have made tremendous progress in describing the incredible diversity of this microbial world, and have begun to dissect the elaborate networks of communication and cooperation among plants, insects, invertebrates, grazers, and microbes, and determine the precise molecular mechanisms of such interactions. Commercial applications of these discoveries are already being used to support plant growth, health, and productivity. However, the as-yet-unrealized benefits of understanding how microbes support plant vitality could be immense. Simply recognizing that our major crop plants have been bred and cultivated without attention to their ancestral microbial partners is in itself potentially revolutionary in its implications. The possibility exists of an array of agricultural practices and products that could increase the productivity of any crop, in any environment, in an economically viable and ecologically responsible manner.

The ubiquity and diversity of plant-microbe interactions can seem almost overwhelming, especially since science has barely scratched the surface of these fundamental biological partnerships. The potential for societal gain is so high, however, that this crucial field of study will richly reward additional attention and investment.

Why do plants need microbes?

When we think about a corn plant or an apple tree, it seems straightforward to list the factors that affect their health and productivity: sunlight, water, reasonable temperatures, and fertile soil. But in nature, these factors are rarely found altogether at all times. How then do plants survive when one or another of these factors is absent or limited for some period of time? The answer is that there is another, mostly invisible, but crucially important, ingredient involved in the well-being of every plant. Virtually every aspect of plant biology is affected by interactions with microbes. Given fluctuations in the natural environment, plants literally could not survive without microbes and therefore all plants form a multitude of relationships with many different kinds of microbes. Some of these relationships are essential and enduring, others are transient or needed only in certain circumstances.

The relationships between plants and microbes date back to the origin of plants. The early evolution of plants took place in an extraordinarily diverse microbial world; bacteria, archaea and viruses had been evolving for billions of years and occupied every conceivable environmental niche. A new partnership between eukaryotic cells and cyanobacteria led to the acquisition of chloroplasts and set the stage for the evolution of plants. This transformative evolutionary event allowed plants to break into the crowded microbial world by co-opting the ability of cyanobacteria to turn sunlight and carbon dioxide (CO2) into easily digestible sugars, and using that ability to drive the evolution of a myriad of multicellular forms that could carry out that reaction at much larger scales and store the resultant fixed carbon for the next generation. While chloroplasts may be the most ancient evidence of the intertwined evolutionary trajectories of plants and microbes, there are many examples of other long-standing evolutionary relationships, of which the mutualistic symbiosis between leguminous plants and nitrogen-fixing rhizobial bacteria is probably the most familiar, though by no means the most common. 

Plant-microbe interactions are not limited to bacteria. Plants have intimate, longstanding relationships with viruses and fungi as well. The ability to carry out photosynthesis and store that energy in the form of leaves, fruits, tubers, and roots makes plants a highly attractive food source. Light and CO2 are not the only inputs plants need; they also require a regular supply of water, as well as nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus, and trace minerals. How do they acquire those inputs, without being able to travel to find them?

In short, there is a great deal of communication going on and we are just beginning to realize how important it is. A goal for the future is to be able to listen in ourselves.

A multitude of mutually beneficial relationships in which the plant provides shelter or sugars and the microbe provides nutrients or protection from pathogens have evolved over time. The number of recognized microbe-plant interactions is large and growing all the time  and they can be classified in several different ways. Most importantly, while we are becoming increasingly aware of mutually beneficial relationships, interactions between plants and microbes can also be neutral or harmful. The conceptual shift that needs to take hold is that plant health is intimately tied up with a complex and largely invisible ecosystem in which literally thousands of species are competing or cooperating in response to constantly changing environmental conditions.

Microbial plant partners

There are three major groups of microbes associated with plants. The kinds of services they provide to plants overlap in many ways and may be provided by a single type of microbe or by more than one of them working together. The relationships among these microbes themselves may also be beneficial, neutral, or antagonistic.

Bacteria

Bacteria are fantastically abundant; there are up to 1010 bacterial cells per gram of soil in and around plant roots, a region known as the rhizosphere. Bacteria are also tremendously genetically diverse — that same gram of soil may contain up to 10,000 different species of bacteria. In addition to the soil, many other bacterial species occupy a variety of niches on and within the aboveground parts of plants.

Among the many services that bacteria can provide are: acquisition of nutrients and minerals; production of antibiotics to deter pathogens and toxins to deter pests; and production of hormones and other compounds to spur growth, stimulate the immune system, and modulate responses to stress. Bacteria also participate in complex communities in which one member may secrete a signal that attracts beneficial organisms, another may ward off pathogens, and still another may produce a substrate upon which other beneficial microbes feed. Together these communities may form dense structures called biofilms that have distinct members and properties, serving, for example, as communication and transportation networks.

Fungi

It has recently become clear that the number and diversity of fungi associated with plants is more vast than previously appreciated. There are 105 to 107 fungal cells per gram of soil, and that reflects only part of the story because fungi live not only on or around plants, but also within them. Every plant that has been sampled has one or many endophytic fungi. The fungi have been found in association with most plant tissues, living between and within plant cells, and forming extensive networks of which only some functions are known. These fungal symbionts form long filaments, or hyphae, that act as extensions of the plant’s roots and are critical in the acquisition of nutrients, minerals, and water. Endophytic fungi can also be found in above-ground plant tissue. For example, Clavicipitaceae  endophytes form intercellular networks within their partner grasses where they produce toxins that ward off insect pests and grazing animals. An emerging consensus asserts that many plants in extreme environments survive only because they have formed partnerships with fungi that provide essential tools to survive heat, drought, salt, heavy metal, and other stresses.

Viruses

Of the many microbes upon which plants are increasingly recognized as being dependent, perhaps viruses are the most surprising. Viruses are far and away the most numerous biological entities on Earth. Every living organism can be infected by at least one and usually many viruses, and most organisms are infected by a diverse and unexplored collection of viruses. However, viruses are rarely considered outside of their role as pathogens. This is understandable; viruses were discovered because of their role in disease. The idea that viruses might be contributing to the healthy state has been slow to emerge. Gradually, though, examples are accumulating of situations where viruses are not only beneficial, but may be essential to some plants.

The ecological approach that plants themselves have used to overcome environmental challenges has been almost completely ignored.

The ability of viruses to affect plant phenotype is well-known to plant breeders, as it is a virus that produces the streak or flame-like markings in tulip flowers. During the tulip breeding craze in 17th century Holland, breeders knew that they could introduce the streaks by grafting bulbs of striped and plain tulips together. They also knew that the striped varieties gradually declined in health and could not be maintained permanently. But it was only in the 1920’s that the “tulip breaking virus”was identified as the reason behind striping. The first virus identified (in 1898) was tobacco mosaic virus, and there are now about 1000 classified plant viral pathogens. But plant viruses have largely been identified because they are causing damage; the idea that some plants may be thriving because of viruses they carry is a relatively new one.

Studies have shown that many plant viruses that cause disease under benign conditions act to improve tolerance when plants are drought stressed. In some cases viral infection may be essential for survival under stressed conditions; the panic grass that grows in the hot soils of Yellowstone National Park can only survive if it carries a certain fungus that is itself infected by a virus. Many plants and fungi carry persistent viruses that are passaged vertically for indefinite time periods. These may serve as cytoplasmic epigenetic elements, providing novel genetic information beyond the plant and fungal genomes.

The theme that carries through all of these examples of beneficial plant-microbe interactions is that over billions of years plants have formed partnerships with a variety of microbes to allow them to survive when environmental conditions are not ideal. When levels of nutrients or water are inadequate, when temperatures are too high or too low, when competitors, predators, or pathogens threaten, often plants have been able to draw on microbial partners to overcome these challenges.

The implications of this realization for agriculture are profound. For millennia, farming practices have sought to provide ideal conditions for plant growth, using mechanical (irrigation), chemical (fertilizer) and genetic (breeding) approaches to provide an environment that maximizes plant productivity.

What kinds of services can microbes provide?

The aspects of plant biology that microbes affect are comprehensive and take many forms. At any given time, microbial activities may be more or less important for each of these functions, but particularly under conditions of scarcity or stress, microbes are likely to be crucial to plant survival via one or more of the mechanisms described below.

Acquisition of nutrients

In addition to water, plants need nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, sulfur, iron and other trace elements. Acquiring them is an ongoing challenge for plants and microbes are active participants in most of these processes. Indeed, bacteria are the only known organisms that can transform gaseous nitrogen into an organic form, ammonia, that can be used by plants. Prior to the development of industrial means to fix nitrogen, plants were entirely dependent on microbes for usable nitrogen. Both fungi and bacteria can help plants obtain adequate phosphorous. 

Optimization of soil microbial communities could allow farmers to apply less chemical fertilizer, thus saving money and reducing the amount of excess nutrients that leach out of fields into water systems.

Other nutrients, like sulfur, potassium and iron can also be transformed into usable forms or transported to plants by both bacteria and fungi. Plants are subject to many potential biological enemies, including bacterial, fungal and viral pathogens that cause disease as well as parasites, insects, birds, and grazing animals that feed on plants. Partnerships with microbes can help plants resist these threats. In the simplest case, microbial partners may simply occupy niches that otherwise might be vulnerable to pathogens. When bacteria form a biofilm around the roots of a plant, microbial pathogens and soil–dwelling parasites cannot gain access. The beneficial microbes in the rhizosphere may be doing more than just getting in the way; they may also be producing any one of a number of chemicals that act directly against pathogens.

Many of the antibiotics humans use to treat infections are derived from bacteria or fungi that produce them to kill or inhibit competing microbes. Other microbially-produced chemicals may serve to mask the presence of the plant from would be parasites or predators, attract beneficial organisms, or stimulate the plants’ immune system. Bacteriophage — viruses that infect bacteria — may kill pathogenic bacteria directly. There is even evidence that microbes can generate electrical fields that can attract or deter other microbes and soil invertebrates like nematodes.

Above ground as below, microbes can serve the plant simply by occupying space that otherwise might be an entry point for pathogens. Surface and endophytic microbes also make a variety of potentially helpful compounds including toxins that deter grazers, volatile compounds that alert neighboring plants to the presence of a threat, and small molecules that trigger protective responses like the closing of stomata. There is crosstalk between the “conversations” going on between plants and the microbial communities above and below ground; events in the soil can trigger responses in leaves and vice versa. For example, when tomato plants are attacked by the early blight fungus, their activated immune system produces stress signals that are perceived by fungi that live around the roots. Through their hyphae, the beneficial root fungi then transmit the stress signal to neighboring plants warning them to up-regulate their stress responses. Microbes produce a wide array of compounds that inhibit or kill competing microbes.

If a bacterium, virus or fungus can deter another microbe that is harmful to a plant, it may well be in the plant’s interests to provide the helpful microbe with shelter and nourishment. It is likely that many plant-microbe partnerships have evolved on this basis: the plant supplies carbohydrates to certain microbes in return for the deterrence of pathogens or predators or other benefits. It has been estimated that up to 30% of a plant’s primary production (that is, the amount of carbon the plant turns into organic matter through photosynthesis) actually leaves the plant as exudate into the soil; the microbes must be making a fairly substantial contribution to earn such a high investment of the plant’s resources.

Resisting environmental stress

If, as just noted, microbes can earn a living protecting plants from predators, it stands to reason that microbes might also benefit from helping the plant survive times of environmental stress. Indeed, microbes have been shown to be important partners in mitigating the effects of virtually every known environmental stress that can affect plants.

Scientists are still unraveling the many ways that plants can make use of microbial capabilities to make nutrients more available or deter pathogens. Perhaps even more surprising, discoveries are emerging from the realization that microbes play critical roles in plant development, physiology and metabolism. These roles often are carried out through microbial synthesis of biochemicals that mimic, amplify, inhibit, or modify the activities of plant hormones. Some seeds require bacteria to germinate. Other microbial compounds enhance root respiration or affect transpiration by modifying the activity of stomata. Microbes can even affect the flavor of food plants.

There is much more going on in a plant’s world than meets the eye. A complex but largely invisible ecosystem surrounds each plant that includes bacteria, fungi, viruses, and soil invertebrates with multiple, interwoven networks of predation, pathogenesis, cooperation and interdependency. There are multiple, lively chemical conversations going on under our feet, conversations that include some overlapping vocabulary and unambiguous signals, but also numerous efforts to encrypt, deceive, or eavesdrop. The conversations connect plant to plant, plant to microbe, plant to nematode, microbe to microbe, nematode to nematode and every other conceivable combination — with viruses potentially participating in multiple ways. The inhabitants of these ecosystems can listen in on some of each other’s conversations, interfere with others, impersonate one another, and amplify or dampen signals; a single chemical can mean different things to different organisms or at different times.

How do plants and microbes interact?

Bacteria produce a number of small molecules that serve as quorum sensors — that is signals that bacteria use to determine the density of the local bacterial community and how many of their own species are present. Bacteria integrate these signals to cue group behaviors like biofilm formation or toxin secretion.

Another way that the various microbial organisms living around plants can interact both with plants and with one another is through direct transfer of genetic material. Bacteria exchange plasmids with each other via the process of conjugation, and viruses shuttle genes from one organism to another on a regular basis. This capability has been exploited in biotechnology to transfer desirable genes into plants.

Another form of interaction is the transfer of proteins between organisms. Bacteria and fungi both produce proteins called effectors that they inject into plant cells. A great deal of interaction between plants and microbes uses the language of plant hormones. Microbes produce a number of plant hormones, and they also produce enzymes that alter plant hormone levels. In return, plants produce compounds to block or modify the bacterially produced plant hormones.

Biotechnology powerhouses: We are not used to considering the members of ecosystems that function at the microscopic scale. Their activities, though invisible, are essential to the overall functioning of the ecosystem.

The potential applications of beneficial microbes in agriculture seem boundless, but progress will require advances in basic understanding of plant-microbe interactions coupled to practical attention to the process of moving discoveries from the lab to the field, as well as technical, regulatory, marketing, and end-user education issues. An integrated approach to addressing these challenges — in other words, an approach that acknowledges the multi-faceted nature of the challenges — is most likely to succeed.

Evolutionarily optimized microbial communities also might allow crop plants to grow in poorer soil or under the less predictable climactic conditions that will accompany continued climate change.

The microbial context in which the ancestors of current crop plants evolved surely differed from that in which their descendants are currently grown. Understanding the partners with which each plant evolved is a highly promising target of intervention to improve crop productivity. It seems clear that plants are able to recruit local microbes for many functions, but it is possible that providing plants with microbial partners more closely related to those with which the plant evolved could allow a dramatic reduction in the artificial inputs — including chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides— that humans have employed to help plants grow in new environments.

Roots are doing a lot more than holding plants in place. The myriad interactions taking place among plant roots, their exudates, and the thousands of species of microbes in the soil are fundamental to plant health and productivity. They remain, however, to a large degree, a black box. Methods for studying these interactions on a molecular level and in real time and space, are essential in order to determine the optimal community for plant productivity and successfully optimize the soil microbiome in the field.

Conclusion

Achieving food security for a still-expanding global population is a large and complex challenge. Increasing agricultural productivity without increasing pressure on natural environments or consuming more fossil fuels is a goal that will require progress across many fronts. Sometimes, however, a great need and a new opportunity happen to coincide. All plants, in all environments, depend on microbes, and therefore, potentially all crops, no matter where they are grown, could benefit from optimization of their microbial partners. The time is right to enlist the capabilities of the microbial world to help solve a pressing human problem.

The substance known today as Ormus is said to have been used as far back as the ancient Egyptian times. With limited information through the centuries since then it would seem that Ormus became an art forgotten until Dr Maynard Murray, a pioneer in biology, health and agriculture, started investigating the seas. Dr Murray’s curiosity lead him to study aquatic life, where he observed that ocean trout didn’t develop cancer, while it’s fresh water counter part developed liver cancer in the later stages of its life. This led him to deduce that the concentrated mineral content in sea water acts as a support to aquatic life’s biology, as he observed little sickness in the sea.  Considering that the ocean collects the planets runoff through streams and rivers, it’s easy to reason that the oceans contain most of the mineral complexes. Dr Murray started experimenting with plants as the main source of minerals for humans. His tests involved spraying actual sea water onto crops, which was bulky, heavy and ultimately expensive to transport.

Dr Murray looked for locations where large quantities of naturally dried salts and started experimenting with sea solids. In 1976, Dr Murray published a small book titled Sea Energy Agriculture – a remarkable testimony to a natural approach to soil fertility, and a nutrition approach to medicine. Although Dr Murray knew very little about bacteria, fungi, microbes and their tightly knit symbiotic dependencies, his research paved the way towards alternative thinking and extended methods to improve soil fertility. His research was regarded as orthodox, and ignored during the petrochemical rush at that time.

After Dr Murray’s passing in 1984 his work was carried on by Don Jansen.  Very little reached the public until 1995, when David Hudson initiated a series of lectures based on 25 years’ research. David Hudson was first to use the term  “ORMEs” for “orbitally-rearranged monatomic elements.” . Progressively more people started looking into different methods to extract salts (Minerals & Elements) from sea water,  specifically into a different matter state, known as m-state,  plasmatic state, or nano gas solid (Gans) state. Natural salts, including the minerals and elements within them, are transformed into microclusters of material exhibiting unique characteristics.  The characteristics include near weightlessness as it appears to float when suspended in water, gas like, but solid when dried out.

Other than the visual characteristics of m-state or Gans nanomaterial, it also exhibits physical properties. Elements in this alternative matter state emit energy fields similar to magnetic or electromagnetic fields. How to make Ormus (Wet Method)

Extract Ormus from fresh water, ocean water, or salt water using the wet method. You take the salt water and bring the pH – the alkalinity of the water – up to 10.78 using sodium hydroxide, which is ordinary drain-cleaner lye. It’s best if you use a pH meter to measure it, but you can also use pH paper. If you are using the paper you can’t be as accurate, but you can at least get close to 10.78. It’s best not to go over that pH because there are other things that will precipitate out above that level. When you bring the pH up to 10.78, you get a white precipitate that will drop down and land on the bottom of your dish or container. I do it in a gallon jug and you can see the stuff dropping down.

Let it settle overnight, then pour the clear liquid off the top and add more fresh water – distilled water or some other clean water. Shake it up and then let it settle again. You repeat that process five times and you’ll get a washed white precipitate with very little salt remaining in it. Most of the sodium hydroxide will wash out as well, so it won’t be at too high a pH.

The wet method of making Ormus is based on ancient yet newly re-discovered alchemical processes. Ormus promotes health and healing, and can enhance our connection to nature. Apart from the amazing mineral content, there is the additional benefit of the valuable plasmatic (MaGrav) field that surrounds Ormus. Tunnels

The structure is comprised of hot galvanised steel and is planted straight into the ground with base plates. Thereafter prefab galvanised steel pipes complete the buildings. The flooring consists of weed mat, creating a smooth coated surface for ease of runoff of any water and prevention of dust and pests.

Steel pipes for the main construction are 42mm round tube uprights all round, the roof trusses are 42mm sections. Leg and roof struts range from 38mm (primary) to 32mm (secondary) support struts. All steel is specified with a 2mm wall thickness. The plastic for cladding is 200 Micron UVA diffused (3.5 year warranty). All poly is covered in a 20% white shade net for protection of the plastic from hail and excessive wind. The ends will feature a 40% grey shade net cladding with a sliding barn door system on each end.

Exclusions  

Accommodation/Food/Travel for Staff: If no accommodation is available on the site, we will need to come up with a solution for all labour for the duration of the project. Decent facilities with ablutions, kitchen space with fridge/freezer, cooking area and a sleeping area should be established before commencement of the project. An additional food budget will be finalised according to time needed to be spent on site and added to the construction budget.  

Land Preparation: Clearing and levelling of the all land must be completed prior to installation of greenhouse structure(s). The assembly site must be suitable, with requirements including but not limited to the assembly site being sufficiently level, safe, and clear of obstruction. Appropriate licences, permissions (including but not limited to planning permissions) and consents for the assembly & construction of the structures must be obtained beforehand and maintained for the life of the project. This is for the account of the client. 

Machinery: Machinery may be added to the quote upon the clients’ request.  

Connection to Electrical Supply: A clean and dedicated AC electrical supply is required for running the irrigation pumps and other electrical appliances. This will need to be carried out by a qualified electrician and is for the account of the client.  

Water Supply: A constant, clean, and reliable water supply will need to be ensured to the site. In the event water quality is unsuitable, which can lead to equipment and/or crop failure, we can supply suitable water purification and management systems. Any extra water supply requirements will need to be budgeted for by the client. A water quality test (ECpH) and flow rate (litres/hour) from your water source(s) need to be carried out for your site are expected to be established before the installation of the irrigation and fertigation systems.  

On-Site Security & Insurance: The Products will be become the clients’ responsibility from the time of delivery. We do not provide security for materials and any security arrangements are for the account of the client. It is recommended that the client takes out insurance for their structures against theft and “acts of god”.

It is no understatement when we say that drinking tap water in South Africa is becoming a risky business. Recently a popular UK travel website advised its customers not to consume tap water in South Africa. It is true that South Africa’s water infrastructure has been neglected and is under serious pressure, even more so because of severe droughts.

In an article released by eNCA in May 2016, it was noted that in 2015 researchers tested water in the major cities and found traces of 34 drugs and pesticides. With many studies and tests conducted currently, more reports are bound to reach the news this year.

SA tap water not being cleaned properly: Experts

Many cities in South Africa treat its water supplies with fluoride. There is known health risks associated with consuming fluoride and new evidence of its dangers continues to surface. This quote is taken from Rand Water’s website.. “One of the concerns regarding fluoridation of water supplies is the fact that fluoride is both a chronic and an acute poison” they also add that “approximately 1000kg of fluoride per day will find its way into water streams”.

Food Producers, Farmers and Water Management Boards, have all been looking into the quality of water and at ways to treat it more effectively. Contaminate levels downstream from rural settlements and small towns are at dangerous levels and some river systems may collapse in the near future. Environmental agencies, government and corporate companies are all working together to solve the crises.

Some wine farmers in the Western Cape are working together with Government and other organisations to clean the Berg River with a living system, also referred to as eco-machines. We will expand on Living Systems at a later stage.

Because of the water situation in South Africa many people are looking into alternative means to clean either their main waterline, or just the kitchen water for drinking and cooking. As a result many of our customers have been asking about the various water treatment/filtration options that we stock. Following is a breakdown of our options and additional information on other alternatives:

1. KDF/Carbon Filter Combination

What is KDF? Kinetic Degradation Fluxion (KDF) is a high-purity, copper-zinc formulation that uses a basic chemical process known as redox (oxidation/reduction) to remove chlorine, lead, mercury, iron, and hydrogen sulphide from water supplies. Redox cleans your water supply by working on opposites. Negatively charged particles in the water are attracted to the positive charge of the copper as apposed to the positively charged particles which is attracted to the negatively charged particles of the zinc. During this reaction, electrons are transferred between molecules, and new compounds are created. Harmful contaminants are converted into harmless components, safely passing through. Heavy metals bond and are retained inside your filter system.

KDF filters are used in conjunction with an activated carbon filter. Carbon is commonly used to adsorb natural organic compounds, synthetic organic chemicals, and both taste and odour compounds in drinking water treatment. The reason for using a KDF Carbon combination is to prolong the life and increase the effectiveness of carbon filters. In addition, KDF filters supplement the activated carbon filters by removing certain heavy metals, something that carbon-based filters are not very effective at removing.

Advantages

  • Your water is free from heavy metals.
  • Chemical compounds are broken down into harmless components.
  • Removes bad tastes and odours
  • Depending on the position of your installation, you receive pure drinking water directly from your tap/taps.
  • Reduced maintenance costs throughout the house.
  • Filter replacement every 12 – 18 months only.
  • Requires no electricity.

Disadvantages

  • Filter replacements needed throughout your systems life cycle.
  • Demineralised water is not suitable for plants because it contains no trace elements.
  • Please read up on demineralised water and the associated health risks.

Recommendation

If this is your preferred installation option for water treatment then we recommend installing the unit into the kitchen as an under the counter option. If you prefer to treat your entire households water, we recommend installing it just before your water enters your household. Please ensure that your garden still receives water from your regular supply.

If you have this or a similar system installed, we recommend adding good quality trace minerals to your drinking water to counter the health risks associated with drinking demineralised water.

2. Ozone Water Treatment

What is ozone? Ozone (03) is simply activated oxygen. It is often referred to as nature’s ingredient for cleaning the atmosphere. It occurs naturally in the upper atmosphere but is also found in small traces here on earth. Ozone is naturally formed during thunderstorms by lightning which charges the atmosphere. This creates that sweet, clean smell experienced after a storm.

Ozone is composed of three oxygen atoms. This combination forms an unstable gas which constantly searches for other substances to bond with. When it attaches to another substance it transfers an oxygen atom, and oxidation occurs. Through oxidation, chemical and metal compounds are broken down to its most basic component. Viruses and bacteria are completely removed from your water source.

Ozone is widely used all over the world in various industries. It is used to prepare pharmaceuticals, disinfect hospitals between surgeries and it is used commercially in public pools and spa’s to disinfect the water. uShaka Marine World in Durban uses ozone to keep their tank’s water crystal clear. Umgeni Water in Kwazulu Natal is running the Wiggins Treatment Plant which uses Ozone as a water treatment tool, the same way many other towns do around the world. As quoted from a paper titled ‘Ozone Experiences’ at Umgeni Water ..“Umgeni Water is proud of the successful operation of the new ozone plant and will certainly consider the use of ozone at other treatment works where the raw water quality dictates that ozone should be required”.

Advantages

  • Ozone is an excellent disinfectant with superior ability to kill viruses and biological contaminants.
  • Very powerful oxidant capable of breaking down compounds into harmless components.
  • Removes bad tastes and odours.
  • Whole household treatment option.
  • Perfectly suitable for plants.
  • It has no residue, after oxidation it returns to oxygen.
  • Ozone protects and extends the life of pipes and equipment.

Disadvantages

  • It requires electricity to function.
  • Periodic maintenance is required.
  • Heavy metals remain in your water supply.

Recommendation

Should this be your preferred water treatment option then we recommend adding a ceramic water filter to your kitchen to remove heavy metals before drinking. Alternatively you could place a small KDF filter system under the kitchen sink to make pure filtered water. Please remember to reintroduce trace elements to your KDF filtered water before consumption.

3. Vortex Magnetic Treatment

What is Vortex water treatment? Vortex water treatment systems have recently come onto the international market. There is a variety of systems on the market that all function slightly different. Most of these systems are created due to the research done by Austrian pioneer water researcher, Viktor Schauberger.

In this system, incoming water is reconfigured by passing it through a vortex system. These systems mimic natural flowing streams and rivers. They are known to effectively soften water by loosening and de-cluttering compounds in the water.

What is Magnetic water treatment? Magnetic water treatment uses an array of magnets, through which water passes through. The magnets assist in re-arranging atoms or ions in the water. These systems are known to effectively de-scale pipes in hard water areas.

At Lighthouse Emporium we have sourced a device that combines both techniques. The combination is a very powerful vortex magnetic system which provides you with silky soft, super charged water. Lots of research has been carried out on the effects of magnetics on water structure.

Recommendation

We at Lighthouse Emporium love growing food. This is one of our favourite items in our store. It has incredible proven effects on plants. We do however recommend accompanying this installation with a kitchen water filter system. The 3 best options would be a small Ozone Generator, a Ceramic Table Top Filter, or alternatively the KDF under the sink system. It depends on individual preferences with regards to mineralised or demineralised water.

4. Mineral Water Filtration

Ceramic filters are made from Diatomaceous Earth, a tiny fossil made up of silicon shells. They are usually utilised with other filtration methods such as carbon filters and mineral stones. They are often made in the form of table top units and widely used by campers and hikers. They have been used for years as a filter media due its effectiveness in removing bacteria, viruses and other contaminants.

Advantages

  • It’s a natural filter media.
  • Easy to clean.
  • Affordable.
  • Requires no electricity.

Disadvantages

  • Filter needs to be replaced periodically.
  • They have low filtration rates dependant on your systems capacity. 

Alternative water treatment/filtration options

5. Reverse Osmosis

The process of Reverse Osmosis was initially designed as a method to desalinate sea water on submarines. Today it is widely used by companies that retail bottled water.

The process used is a method which forces water through a membrane. High pressure is required to stop minerals and impurities from passing through, setting it aside.

Advantages

  • Pure drinking water on demand.

Disadvantages

  • Periodic maintenance required.
  • Slow water delivery rate due to the intensity of the cleaning method. 
  • Reverse Osmosis water is usually acidic.
  • Not suitable for plants. 
  • Demineralised Water.

Recommendation

If this is your preferred method for water treatment we recommend using a good quality product to reintroduce the needed minerals.

6. Ionizing

Water Ionizers were developed by Russian scientists in the 1930’s. Ionizers use electromagnetism to change ordinary tap water into ionized alkaline water. Through the use of magnetically charged plates, water is separated into one stream containing all alkaline components and another stream containing all the acid materials. They usually include a filter before the water is ionized that differs, depending on the manufacturer.

Advantages

  • You can select either alkaline or acidic water.

Disadvantages

  • They are very expensive.
  • They require electricity to function. 

7. Distillation

Water distillers utilizes a heating element to heat water up to create steam. Steam is then cooled, condenses and the result is purified water. All the impurities at left behind to linger in the left over water which is easily discarded. The process of distillation is similar to that of nature and the natural weather cycle. The sun heats and evaporates sea water, leaving minerals and impurities behind. They later reform and come down as rain, purified water.

Please be aware of the risks associated with drinking demineralised water on a regular basis. It is recommended to add quality minerals to your water before drinking.

Advantages

  • Pure demineralised water.
  • Easy to clean. 
  • The product has no filters to replace.

Disadvantages

  • Your water treatment volumes is depended on the capabilities of your distillation device.
  • They require electricity to function. 
  • Demineralised water.

8. Simple survival method

There are several survival methods circulated on the internet. Many of these methods promote charcoal as a replacement for activated carbon, a substance used in many filtration systems around the world.

Other methods include that the use of pine bark in a simple plastic pipe. This was demonstrated by MIT.

MIT group shows xylem tissue in sapwood can filter bacteria from contaminated water.

9. Simple Copper Coil

One particular method that we would like to discuss is that of a simple copper coil. In the article below it is maintained that.. “The device, now undergoing year-long tests in Kenya and India, is a coil of electric copper cables that is suspended in water. In laboratory tests it has been proven to kill the pathogens.”

Simple copper device could save millions of lives.

Copper is a very special metal. To activate the carbon inside the copper the surface is burned either by gas burner or a simple fire. Simply let it cool down naturally. After burning, the copper will be black instead of the usual reddish-orange colour.

The Steps: Strip electrical wire to expose copper (best to use solid wire). Turn your coil. Burn copper either by fire or gas. Let it cool down naturally. Place in your water.

9. Copper Oxide Nano Particles

Copper Oxide has long been regarded as an effective tool to disinfect water sources. There is an on going study in Ghana on the effects of water treatment with CuO (Copper Oxide). The preliminary results are very good.

In a paper done it was suggested that Copper Oxide is easy to make, safe, simple and environmentally friendly.

Wastewater Disinfection by Synthesized Copper Oxide Nanoparticles.

It has been suggested by the Keshe Foundation that 1 litre of water exposed directly to CuO could be used to clean 100 litres of contaminated water. The impurities in the water will settle down to the bottom so it is advised only to drink the top half of the water. We find using homeopathic principles in water treatment very interesting.

We encourage students studying water treatment systems and environmental science to make use of the availability of copper to create and test CuO in Nano State.

How to make Copper Oxide – Gas at Nano State (Gans):

  • Collect two pieces of copper.
  • Burn one piece of copper so it is totally black. A carbon rod could replace burned copper.
  • Place the two pieces at opposite ends of a container (not more than 10cm apart).
  • Connect the two pieces of copper with a copper wire.
  • Add sea water or dissolved salt water mixture of 15 – 20% Salt.
  • Leave it to stand for 48 hours.
  • Collect the material at the bottom of the container.
  • Wash with pure water 5 to 10 times to enhance the purity of the nano material. Simply add water, shake, let the material settle, remove the excess water, fill up, and repeat.
  • The material could be dried and applied to wastewater in powder form.
